Registering or Updating Your Donor Status

You can register or update your status in your state donor registry. To find your state’s donor registry, visit Sign Up To Be An Organ Donor.

Visit our FAQs page to learn who can donate, how to register, how organs are matched to patients, and more.

Visit the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) website to learn about the policies of the national organ transplantation system, including organ allocation in the United States.

The OPTN website has current and historical data on organ transplantation, deceased and living donation, and the transplant patient waiting list. Visit About Data to learn more.

The Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients (SRTR) has reports about different transplant programs. The data help patients and the transplant community understand patients’ experiences before and after a transplant.

To learn about bone marrow or cord blood donation and transplantation, visit Blood Stem Cell.
