Liver Recipient: Texas

Armed forces veterans Marie and Rickey know the importance of organ donation. Their son, Mikey, received a lifesaving liver transplant at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston when he was only five months old.

Today, Mikey is a thriving. He loves to collect stickers and play basketball with his older brother, Kendall. The family has continued to give back to their community as LifeGift Vital Volunteers. They’ve even gone to Austin to lobby for change and advocate for those waiting for transplants.

The family has continued to give back to their community as LifeGift Vital Volunteers.
